Mackenzie Lawhorn and Damacio Tellez arrested after armed robbery

Late July, police found a man severely injured and stumbling along the road in Johnson. They took him to the Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment, and found he was suffering from several large lacerations and a concussion. He was at a home in Fayetteville when three men robber him at gunpoint and beat him with their weapons.

Over $7,000 was stolen, in additional to personal documents such as his marriage license. Afterwards, the trio put the man in the backseat of his car and drove off. They drove him to Johnson and dumped him out. His car was found by where the robbery took place with extensive damage to its electronic systems.

A resident where the robbery took place was able to identify Lawhorn, 19, and police were latter able to identify Tellez, 27. Both are being charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property and engaging in violent criminal group activity and Lawhorn is also being charged with kidnapping. Tellez is being held after a $50,000 bond after he failed to appear while Lawhorn has not been offered bond.
