Evidence stolen from storage facility

The Little Rock police aviation hangar was found broken into as an officer conducting a scheduled property check and found a section of a chain link fence removed. The officer found further damage during his check, including a hold in the exterior metal sheeting of a new hanger building and cargo straps cut. The facility is not an operating aviation hanger and was used as a secondary location to store evidence.

A review was conducted which inventoried the stored evidence, to determine which pieces were stolen, damaged, or opened. In addition to more than $4,000 damage done to facility, an estimate of the value of the stolen evidence came to $20,000. The facility has been secured as much as possible until proper repairs can be completed. No weapons were stored at the facility prior to the robbery.
