Criminal investigation started into sexual abuse by the Huntsville Schools Basketball Team
Members of the team are accused of having an activity, which they call baptizing, where players put their penises in each other’s mouths. The initial investigation left one student with a semester long suspension. Additional complaints are also being filed by additional students who were victimized in this activity and a criminal investigation has started.
The Police Chief and the Prosecuting Attorney for the case have refused to give other details of the case because they do not want to put the prosecution’s case or taint the jury pool. The Madison County Sheriff’s department is also part of the investigation and others may also join. The parents of players in the community are very happy that the cases are being turned into criminal cases. They were previously Title IX cases.
